Se ha presentado un nuevo navegador web de consola, Carbonyl, basado en el motor Chromium y capaz de mostrar cualquier sitio en el terminal, incluyendo YouTube. El navegador soporta casi todas las API de la web, incluyendo WebGL, WebGPU y herramientas para la reproducci\u00f3n de video, sonido y animaci\u00f3n. La operaci\u00f3n es posible tanto al abrir directamente el terminal como al conectarse a trav\u00e9s de SSH. La envoltura alrededor del motor Chromium est\u00e1 escrita en TypeScript, C++ y Rust. <\/p>\n

El proyecto contin\u00faa desarrollando la herramienta html2svg, que originalmente fue dise\u00f1ada para convertir HTML y en im\u00e1genes vectoriales (SVG, PDF) o rasterizadas (PNG, JPEG, WebP), y ahora se utiliza como base para el renderizado en terminal. Para la salida de gr\u00e1ficos, se aprovechan las capacidades de terminales como xterm-256, mostrando caracteres unicode en color \u2014 el s\u00edmbolo U+2584 (\u2584) se utiliza como p\u00edxel virtual. Al aprovechar la proporci\u00f3n de aspecto de 1:2 de este s\u00edmbolo, es posible mostrar en su base dos p\u00edxeles cuadrados, donde el superior define el color de fondo y el inferior el del primer plano. <\/p>\n

Para rastrear el movimiento del mouse, el desplazamiento del cursor y el cambio del color del texto, se utilizan secuencias de escape de xterm. En el terminal xterm, es posible utilizar una paleta RGB de 6x6x6, y al establecer el modo COLORTERM, una paleta RGB a todo color de 24 bits. El texto se renderiza en un tama\u00f1o fijo, separado de las im\u00e1genes. Para interceptar el texto, se conecta un control adicional en la biblioteca Skia. El c\u00f3digo de renderizado est\u00e1 optimizado para su uso en terminal y permite mostrar gr\u00e1ficos con una frecuencia de actualizaci\u00f3n de hasta 60 FPS con una carga m\u00ednima para la CPU.
