La empresa Cisco ha publicado nuevas versiones del paquete antivirus gratuito ClamAV 1.0.1, 0.105.3 y 0.103.8, en las cuales se ha corregido una vulnerabilidad cr\u00edtica (CVE-2023-20032) que podr\u00eda permitir la ejecuci\u00f3n de c\u00f3digo al escanear en ClamAV archivos con im\u00e1genes de disco formateadas especialmente en HFS+. <\/p>\n

La vulnerabilidad se debe a la falta de una verificaci\u00f3n adecuada del tama\u00f1o del b\u00fafer, lo que permite escribir datos en \u00e1reas fuera del b\u00fafer y ejecutar c\u00f3digo con los privilegios del proceso ClamAV, por ejemplo, al escanear en un servidor de correo archivos extra\u00eddos de correos. Las nuevas versiones tambi\u00e9n corrigen otra vulnerabilidad (CVE-2023-20052), que podr\u00eda conducir a la filtraci\u00f3n de contenido de cualquier archivo al servidor<\/a>, al que tiene acceso el proceso que est\u00e1 realizando el escaneo. La vulnerabilidad se manifiesta al analizar archivos con formato DMG especialmente dise\u00f1ados y es causada por el hecho de que el analizador permite la inclusi\u00f3n de elementos XML externos, a los cuales hay referencias en el DMG que se est\u00e1 analizando.
