Proton permite ejecutar directamente aplicaciones de juegos en el cliente de Steam para Linux que solo est\u00e1n disponibles para Windows. El paquete incluye una implementaci\u00f3n de DirectX 9\/10\/11 (basada en el paquete DXVK) y DirectX 12 (basada en vkd3d-proton), que opera mediante la traducci\u00f3n de llamadas de DirectX a la API Vulkan, proporcionando un mejor soporte para controladores de juegos y la posibilidad de usar el modo de pantalla completa independientemente de las resoluciones soportadas en los juegos.
