El n\u00facleo Linux 6.6 ha sido designado como una rama con soporte a largo plazo. Las actualizaciones para la rama 6.6 se lanzar\u00e1n al menos hasta diciembre de 2026, aunque no se excluye que, como en el caso de las ramas 5.10, 5.4 y 4.19, el periodo se extienda hasta seis a\u00f1os y el soporte se mantenga hasta diciembre de 2029. Para las versiones regulares del n\u00facleo, las actualizaciones se lanzan solo hasta la salida de la siguiente rama estable (por ejemplo, las actualizaciones para la rama 6.5 se lanzaron hasta que se lanz\u00f3 6.6). <\/p>\n

Por separado, en base a los n\u00facleos 4.4, 4.19, 5.10 y 6.1, la organizaci\u00f3n Linux Foundation proporciona ramas SLTS (Soporte a Largo Plazo Super Extendido), que son mantenidas por separado y ser\u00e1n soportadas durante 10-20 a\u00f1os.
