Ya est\u00e1 disponible la primera versi\u00f3n de la biblioteca multimedia LDL (Little DirectMedia Layer), dise\u00f1ada para funcionar en hardware anticuado. La biblioteca proporciona una API multiplataforma sencilla para trabajar con gr\u00e1ficos 2D, gestionar ventanas y eventos del sistema operativo, adecuada para el desarrollo de juegos sencillos y aplicaciones multimedia. En la pr\u00e1ctica, la biblioteca ya se utiliza para desarrollar un motor de juego alternativo de c\u00f3digo abierto para el juego Arcanum. El c\u00f3digo del proyecto est\u00e1 escrito en C++ 98 y se distribuye bajo la licencia BSL 1.0 (Boost Software License). <\/p>\n

El autor pone gran \u00e9nfasis en la optimizaci\u00f3n de la biblioteca para plataformas obsoletas y en la creaci\u00f3n de una API C++ port\u00e1til \u00fanica que se pueda usar en varios sistemas operativos (adem\u00e1s se proporciona una API para programas en C). En su estado actual, se admite el funcionamiento en Linux (Debian 3+) y Windows (Windows 95+). <\/p>\n

Se ofrece soporte para el renderizado en GPU utilizando OpenGL 1.2 y OpenGL 3.0, as\u00ed como renderizado por software utilizando la CPU.
