En Linux From Scratch se incluyen instrucciones para crear desde cero un sistema Linux b\u00e1sico, utilizando solo los c\u00f3digos fuente del software necesario. Beyond Linux From Scratch complementa las instrucciones de LFS con informaci\u00f3n sobre la compilaci\u00f3n y configuraci\u00f3n de m\u00e1s de 1000 paquetes de software, abarcando diversas \u00e1reas de aplicaci\u00f3n, desde bases de datos y sistemas de servidores hasta entornos gr\u00e1ficos.    <\/p>\n<p>En Linux From Scratch 12.1 se han actualizado 43 paquetes, entre los que se encuentran Glibc 2.39, n\u00facleo Linux 6.7.4, Grub 2.12, Systemd 255, SysVinit 3.08, Coreutils 9.4, binutils 2.42, Openssl 3.2.1, Python 3.12 y otros.     <\/p>\n<p>Se ha publicado la traducci\u00f3n de las gu\u00edas Linux From Scratch 12.1-SysV y Linux From Scratch 12.1-systemd al espa\u00f1ol, donde se destacan los siguientes cambios:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha corregido la numeraci\u00f3n de las p\u00e1ginas en el pdf.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha a\u00f1adido una versi\u00f3n multilib de la traducci\u00f3n (el libro se cargar\u00e1 tan pronto como se publique la versi\u00f3n original multilib).\n<li class=\"l\"> Se han corregido numerosos errores y se han realizado amplios cambios en el texto para mejorar la legibilidad.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha puesto en funcionamiento el repositorio de paquetes LFS.  <\/ul>\n<p>En Beyond Linux From Scratch 12.1 se incluyen 1685 actualizaciones, entre las que se encuentran GNOME 45, Xfce 4.18.2, KDE Plasma 5.27.10, LibreOffice 24.2.0.3, Thunderbird 115.8.0, Firefox 115.8.0, SeaMonkey 2.53.18, GIMP 2.10.36, Mesa 24.0.1, MariaDB 10.11.7, PostgreSQL 16.2, SQLite 3.45.1, Samba 4.19.5, Postfix 3.8.5, Exim 4.97.1, BIND 9.18.24, Apache httpd 2.4.58 y muchos m\u00e1s. Las novedades en esta versi\u00f3n incluyen Qt6, sysmon-qt, xdg-desktop-portal, simple-scan, snapshot, Wireplumber, power-profiles-daemon y varios paquetes auxiliares. Tambi\u00e9n se han a\u00f1adido paquetes SPIRV y Vulkan para soportar los controladores Vulkan para mesa.
