La compa\u00f1\u00eda Canonical ha anunciado un periodo de formaci\u00f3n de actualizaciones de 12 a\u00f1os para las versiones LTS de Ubuntu. Esta extensi\u00f3n afectar\u00e1 a todas las versiones LTS actuales, comenzando con Ubuntu 14.04, cuyo soporte deb\u00eda terminar en abril de este a\u00f1o, pero ahora se ha extendido hasta abril de 2026.
