La empresa Microsoft ha presentado una nueva versi\u00f3n de la fuente monoespaciada abierta Cascadia Code 2404.23, optimizada para su uso en emuladores de terminal y editores de c\u00f3digo. La fuente se destaca por su soporte de ligaduras programables, lo que permite crear nuevos glifos mediante la combinaci\u00f3n de s\u00edmbolos existentes. Estos glifos son compatibles con el editor abierto Visual Studio Code y mejoran la legibilidad del c\u00f3digo. <\/p>\n

Esta es la primera actualizaci\u00f3n del proyecto en los \u00faltimos dos a\u00f1os y medio. Los componentes de la fuente se distribuyen bajo la licencia OFL 1.1 (Open Font License), que permite modificar la fuente sin restricciones, utiliz\u00e1ndola tambi\u00e9n con fines comerciales, de impresi\u00f3n y en sitios web. Se ofrecen archivos para descarga en formato TrueType (TTF). <\/p>\n

Entre las mejoras en la nueva versi\u00f3n se destaca la adici\u00f3n de 1140 nuevos glifos, que incluyen im\u00e1genes utilizadas en pseudograf\u00eda y arte ASCII, n\u00fameros segmentados, divididos en partes (cuadrantes, sextantes, octantes), elementos para componer texto grande, as\u00ed como algunos s\u00edmbolos que se usaban en sistemas obsoletos. El n\u00famero total de glifos ha aumentado a 9209. Tambi\u00e9n se ofrecen las variantes de fuente \u00abCascadia Code NF\u00bb y \u00abCascadia Mono NF\u00bb, que corresponden a las fuentes de Nerd.
