La versi\u00f3n se ha formado sobre una base com\u00fan con SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP 6, utilizando un conjunto de paquetes binarios y algunas aplicaciones personalizadas del repositorio openSUSE Tumbleweed. El uso de los mismos paquetes binarios en SUSE y openSUSE facilita la transici\u00f3n entre las distribuciones, ahorra recursos en la compilaci\u00f3n de paquetes, en la distribuci\u00f3n de actualizaciones y en pruebas, unifica las diferencias en archivos spec y permite desvincular el diagn\u00f3stico de diferentes compilaciones de paquetes al analizar mensajes de errores. Se encuentra disponible una imagen DVD universal con un tama\u00f1o de 4.4 GB (x86_64, aarch64, ppc64les, 390x), una imagen reducida para instalaci\u00f3n con descarga de paquetes por red (200 MB) y compilaciones Live (~900 MB) con KDE, GNOME y Xfce para arquitecturas X86_64 y ARM64.<\/p>\n<p>Se espera que openSUSE Leap 15.6 sea la \u00faltima versi\u00f3n de la serie 15.x, y en 2025 se lanzar\u00e1 openSUSE Leap 16 sobre la plataforma ALP. La principal diferencia de ALP es la divisi\u00f3n de la base del sistema operativo en dos partes: un &#171;host OS&#187; reducido para funcionar directamente sobre el hardware y una capa de soporte para aplicaciones, enfocada en su ejecuci\u00f3n en contenedores y <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/es\/vps\/abuzoustojchivye-vps\/\"   title=\"m\u00e1quinas virtuales\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"4247\">m\u00e1quinas virtuales<\/a>. La creaci\u00f3n el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o de otro lanzamiento funcional en la rama openSUSE Leap 15 dar\u00e1 a los desarrolladores tiempo adicional para perfeccionar la plataforma ALP.<\/p>\n<p>Novedades principales:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Se han actualizado los entornos de usuario: GNOME 45.1 (la versi\u00f3n anterior ten\u00eda GNOME 41), Cinnamon 6.0 (ten\u00eda 4.6), Enlightenment 0.25.4 (ten\u00eda 0.25.3) y LxQt 1.4 (ten\u00eda 1.2). Las versiones de KDE Plasma 5.27 (el cambio a la rama KDE 6 ser\u00e1 en la pr\u00f3xima versi\u00f3n de openSUSE), Xfce 4.18, MATE 1.26, Sway 1.6.1 no han cambiado.
