Un desarrollador de Fedora que trabaja en Red Hat ha presentado la herramienta SyncStar, que permite desplegar servicios para la creaci\u00f3n de unidades USB de arranque con sistemas operativos seleccionados por el usuario. El objetivo principal de SyncStar es la creaci\u00f3n de quioscos y paneles informativos que pueden ser utilizados en conferencias t\u00e9cnicas y exposiciones para grabar im\u00e1genes de arranque de diversos sistemas operativos en las unidades USB de los participantes del evento. El c\u00f3digo del proyecto est\u00e1 escrito en Python y se distribuye bajo la licencia AGPLv3. <\/p>\n

Los desarrolladores de distribuciones de Linux pueden utilizar estos quioscos para distribuir versiones de demostraci\u00f3n de sus sistemas, facilitando la familiarizaci\u00f3n de los visitantes de conferencias y exposiciones con Linux. Para crear un quiosco, solo se necesita un ordenador port\u00e1til com\u00fan, instalado en un stand de exhibici\u00f3n, o una placa Raspberry Pi y una carcasa impresa en 3D. El proyecto est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para funcionar sin monitor: la gesti\u00f3n y selecci\u00f3n de la imagen para grabar se realiza a trav\u00e9s de una interfaz web, a la que cualquier participante del evento puede acceder desde su smartphone o laptop, conect\u00e1ndose a la red inal\u00e1mbrica compartida. Entre las caracter\u00edsticas de SyncStar se menciona la posibilidad de grabar varias im\u00e1genes simult\u00e1neamente en modo as\u00edncrono, una interfaz web adaptativa dise\u00f1ada para funcionar con diferentes tipos de dispositivos, y una interfaz de l\u00ednea de comandos para configurar el quiosco.
