Se lanz\u00f3 la nueva versi\u00f3n dd_rescue 1.99.17, una herramienta para recuperar datos de dispositivos fallidos, hacer copias de seguridad y desplegar im\u00e1genes de disco. No debe confundirse con la herramienta GNU ddrescue, que a diferencia de dd_rescue, cuenta con caracter\u00edsticas adicionales \u00fatiles, como el soporte para archivos dispersos, entrada\/salida que omite el cach\u00e9, compresi\u00f3n y cifrado transparentes. La herramienta dd_rescue se incluye en muchos distribuciones populares de GNU\/Linux, como Fedora, openSUSE, Mageia y ALT Linux. El c\u00f3digo de la herramienta est\u00e1 escrito en C y se distribuye bajo la licencia GPLv2+. <\/p>\n

En la nueva versi\u00f3n se ha a\u00f1adido el soporte para compresi\u00f3n y descompresi\u00f3n transparentes mediante el algoritmo LZMA, lo que permite, entre otras cosas, utilizar im\u00e1genes de disco comprimidas en formato xz.
