Despu\u00e9s de 7 a\u00f1os desde la publicaci\u00f3n de la \u00faltima actualizaci\u00f3n significativa, se ha lanzado la versi\u00f3n 2.0 del proyecto GSmartControl, que desarrolla una interfaz gr\u00e1fica para la herramienta smartmontools, permitiendo monitorear el estado de los dispositivos que soportan la tecnolog\u00eda S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology). Se admite el funcionamiento con discos PATA y SATA, unidades NVMe, convertidores USB y algunos controladores RAID. El c\u00f3digo del proyecto est\u00e1 escrito en lenguaje C utilizando la biblioteca GTK y se distribuye bajo la licencia GPL 3.0. <\/p>\n

El programa permite ejecutar pruebas internas de funcionalidad de los dispositivos y revisar los resultados de su ejecuci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, est\u00e1n disponibles funciones como activar\/desactivar SMART, generar informes y detectar anomal\u00edas, configurar par\u00e1metros espec\u00edficos para dispositivos individuales de SMART y mostrar informaci\u00f3n detallada sobre el dispositivo. Los informes pueden generarse tanto a trav\u00e9s de consultas al dispositivo como a partir de la carga de un archivo de texto que contenga la salida del comando smartctl, guardada en otro sistema. Se soportan compilaciones para Linux, Windows, macOS, FreeBSD y otros sistemas BSD. <\/p>\n

La nueva versi\u00f3n destaca por a\u00f1adir soporte para unidades NVMe y por adoptar el formato JSON para el an\u00e1lisis de la salida de la utilidad smartctl. Se ha realizado una refactorizaci\u00f3n del c\u00f3digo y un cambio para utilizar las capacidades ofrecidas en los est\u00e1ndares C++17 y C++20 (ahora se requiere un compilador que soporte C++20, como GCC 13+, Clang 17+ y Apple Clang 15+). La herramienta Autotools ha sido reemplazada por el sistema de compilaci\u00f3n CMake. En la interfaz se utilizan \u00edconos del conjunto Oxygen en lugar de Crystal.
