Andreas H\u00fcttel del equipo responsable de las versiones de Gentoo Linux (Release Engineering team) ha anunciado el inicio de la creaci\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes experimentales de Gentoo en formato QCOW2, que permiten obtener un entorno del sistema completamente funcional y listo para ser cargado en m\u00e1quinas virtuales. Se planea actualizar las im\u00e1genes cada semana, lo que permitir\u00e1 evaluar el estado actual de la distribuci\u00f3n. Anteriormente, solo se distribuyeron im\u00e1genes de instalaci\u00f3n y una versi\u00f3n Live para iniciar desde dispositivos USB. <\/p>\n

Hay dos opciones de im\u00e1genes disponibles para descargar con un entorno de consola: una completa (1.2 GB) y una reducida sin multilib (233 MB). Por defecto, en las im\u00e1genes no se inician servicios de red, como sshd, y la contrase\u00f1a de root est\u00e1 establecida como vac\u00eda.
