La compa\u00f1\u00eda Canonical public\u00f3 el resultado de la evaluaci\u00f3n del cambio de rendimiento al reconstruir paquetes con la inclusi\u00f3n de optimizaciones basadas en los resultados del perfilado de c\u00f3digo (PGO \u2014 optimizaci\u00f3n guiada por perfil), que permite generar un c\u00f3digo m\u00e1s optimizado basado en el an\u00e1lisis de las caracter\u00edsticas de ejecuci\u00f3n del programa. En el transcurso del trabajo realizado, se concluy\u00f3 que la inclusi\u00f3n de la optimizaci\u00f3n PGO permiti\u00f3 reducir la carga en la CPU en un 5-7% y acelerar el tiempo de compilaci\u00f3n. <\/p>\n

En el curso del experimento realizado, se midi\u00f3 el rendimiento de la compilaci\u00f3n de paquetes OpenSSL, GDB, Emacs y Python3.12 en un entorno virtual QEMU, emulando un sistema RISC-V en una computadora con arquitectura x86_64. La diferencia en el rendimiento se evalu\u00f3 para QEMU, compilado con las opciones predeterminadas y con la inclusi\u00f3n de PGO-optimizaci\u00f3n. Los paquetes a compilar se seleccionaron teniendo en cuenta que utilizan diferentes lenguajes de programaci\u00f3n, y el volumen de c\u00f3digo corresponde a 1-6 horas de compilaci\u00f3n en el emulador. <\/p>\n

Desde la perspectiva pr\u00e1ctica, el experimento permiti\u00f3 lograr un aumento en el rendimiento de los entornos de compilaci\u00f3n para la plataforma RISC-V, ejecutados mediante un emulador. Las compilaciones, que antes se llevaban a cabo en un d\u00eda, se hicieron casi dos horas m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidas al utilizar PGO-optimizaci\u00f3n, lo que permiti\u00f3 producir diariamente en el mismo servidor<\/a> dos compilaciones completas adicionales.
