El proyecto GNU ha publicado la versi\u00f3n 1.14 del paquete gzip, que incluye las herramientas gzip, gunzip, zmore y zcat para la compresi\u00f3n y descompresi\u00f3n de datos utilizando el algoritmo LZ77. La aceleraci\u00f3n se ha logrado gracias a la optimizaci\u00f3n de las operaciones con sumas de verificaci\u00f3n (CRC), que consum\u00edan aproximadamente la mitad del tiempo de CPU. La versi\u00f3n optimizada de CRC ya se ha a\u00f1adido a la biblioteca gnulib, lo que beneficiar\u00e1 a otros proyectos de GNU que utilizan funciones para calcular sumas de verificaci\u00f3n. <\/p>\n
