Despu\u00e9s de dos a\u00f1os y medio de desarrollo, se ha formado el lanzamiento de la distribuci\u00f3n ligera independiente de Linux CRUX 3.7, que se ha desarrollado desde 2001 de acuerdo con la filosof\u00eda KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) y est\u00e1 orientada a usuarios experimentados. El objetivo del proyecto es crear una distribuci\u00f3n simple y transparente para los usuarios, basada en scripts de inicializaci\u00f3n similares a BSD, con una estructura lo m\u00e1s simplificada posible y con un n\u00famero relativamente peque\u00f1o de paquetes binarios preparados. CRUX soporta un sistema de puertos que permite instalar y actualizar aplicaciones al estilo de FreeBSD\/Gentoo. El tama\u00f1o de la imagen ISO preparada para la arquitectura x86-64 es de 1.7 GB. <\/p>\n

En esta nueva versi\u00f3n se han actualizado las versiones de los componentes del sistema, incluyendo el n\u00facleo Linux 6.12, glibc 2.40, gcc 14.2.0, binutils 2.43.1, sysvinit 3.14. Se incluyen nuevos paquetes como nvme-cli, rdfind, libbsd, libcap-ng, libxcrypt. Por defecto, contin\u00faa suministr\u00e1ndose un entorno basado en el servidor X (xorg-server 21.1.16, Mesa 25.0), pero como opci\u00f3n se ha implementado la posibilidad de utilizar el protocolo Wayland. La imagen ISO se ha construido en una representaci\u00f3n h\u00edbrida, adecuada para arranque desde medios DVD y USB. Durante la instalaci\u00f3n se garantiza soporte para UEFI.
