OmniOS se destaca por brindar soporte a los hipervisores bhyve y KVM, a la pila de red virtual Crossbow, al sistema de archivos ZFS y a las herramientas para lanzar contenedores ligeros de Linux. El distribuidor puede utilizarse para construir sistemas web escalables, virtualizaci\u00f3n y creaci\u00f3n de sistemas de almacenamiento.    <\/p>\n<p>En esta nueva versi\u00f3n:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Se han actualizado las versiones de los paquetes, entre los que se encuentran Python 3.13, Perl 5.40.2, SQLite 3.49.1, wget 2.2.0, gnu-binutils 2.44, gnu-coreutils 9.6, git 2.49.0, OpenSSL 3.5.0, OpenSSH 10.0.2.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se han a\u00f1adido nuevos paquetes: 7zip (en lugar de p7zip), aarch64-build-tools, libmagic, file (para reemplazar la utilidad incorporada), tztest.\n<li class=\"l\"> Para la construcci\u00f3n de componentes del espacio de usuario se ha utilizado el conjunto de compiladores GCC 14.\n<li class=\"l\"> La utilidad mkfs_pcfs ha agregado soporte para sectores de disco de tama\u00f1o mayor a 512 bytes.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha a\u00f1adido dtc (compilador de \u00e1rbol de dispositivos).\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha detenido la construcci\u00f3n de OpenSSL 3 en modo de compatibilidad con la API de OpenSSL 1.1.1.\n<li class=\"l\"> En libc se han implementado las funciones fdclose, dprintf, vdprintf, wcslcat, wcslcpy, getlocalename_l, posix_spawn_file_actions_addchdir, posix_spawn_file_actions_addfchdir, secure_getenv. Se ha a\u00f1adido el archivo de encabezado stdbit.h y las funciones relacionadas.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se han ampliado las propiedades a las que tienen acceso los adaptadores de red virtual utilizados en entornos aislados (Solaris Zones).\n<li class=\"l\"> En Bhyve se ha agregado soporte para contadores de rendimiento de CPU AMD, mejorada la entrega de CPUID a sistemas invitados, y se ha implementado soporte experimental para TPM virtuales (swtpm). El firmware UEFI se ha actualizado al paquete EDK-II 202411.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha mejorado el soporte para los estados de consumo de energ\u00eda (C-State) de procesadores AMD.
