La iniciativa de transformar GNOME OS de una distribuci\u00f3n para probadores y desarrolladores de GNOME a una distribuci\u00f3n de prop\u00f3sito general, adecuada para el uso diario por parte de usuarios comunes, ha entrado en una nueva fase. Se ha anunciado la disponibilidad de compilaciones nocturnas de GNOME OS para pruebas por parte de desarrolladores y usuarios avanzados. El objetivo principal de las pruebas es perfeccionar el sistema mediante el uso de GNOME OS en hardware real como sistema operativo principal. <\/p>\n

GNOME OS utiliza el componente systemd-sysupdate para organizar actualizaciones at\u00f3micas del sistema y el formato de paquetes flatpak para instalar programas adicionales. Se ha empleado un prototipo de instalador que a\u00fan no contiene todas las funcionalidades esperadas. El tama\u00f1o de la imagen iso disponible para descarga es de 1.9 GB. <\/p>\n

Para incentivar las pruebas de GNOME OS, se ha establecido un concurso, cuyo ganador recibir\u00e1 un smartphone OnePlus 6 con firmware basado en postmarketOS. El ganador ser\u00e1 el usuario que haya acumulado la mayor cantidad de puntos, otorgados seg\u00fan el c\u00e1lculo: 10 puntos por utilizar GNOME OS a diario en su computadora principal durante al menos 4 semanas; 1 punto por cada informe de error correcto; 3 puntos por cada solicitud de cambio aceptada; 5 puntos por cada problema solucionado que haya sido publicado en el sistema de seguimiento de errores.
