En Fedora Linux 43, en sistemas con arquitectura x86, se planea mantener \u00fanicamente la opci\u00f3n de utilizar tablas de particiones GPT (GUID Partition Table) en todas las instalaciones de Fedora que usan UEFI. Este cambio a\u00fan no ha sido considerado por el comit\u00e9 FESCo (Fedora Engineering Steering Committee), que se encarga de la parte t\u00e9cnica del desarrollo de la distribuci\u00f3n Fedora. Si se aprueba la propuesta, el soporte para la instalaci\u00f3n de Fedora en modo UEFI en discos con tablas de particiones MBR (Master Boot Record) se interrumpir\u00e1 en sistemas x86, pero se mantendr\u00e1 en sistemas ARM y RISC-V. <\/p>\n

La raz\u00f3n mencionada para la interrupci\u00f3n del soporte de MBR es la baja fiabilidad de arranque en tales configuraciones, la disparidad en el soporte de MBR en los firmwares y la falta de pruebas adecuadas en Fedora (en la documentaci\u00f3n de GRUB2 se prescribe utilizar GPT para UEFI). Se espera que, al dejar en el instalador Anaconda solo el soporte para GPT en sistemas x86, se puedan eliminar los fallos cr\u00edticos en la fase de arranque causados por fallos de efibootmgr.
