Los desarrolladores del editor de sonido Ardour han eliminado el soporte de compilaci\u00f3n con la biblioteca GTK2 y han dejado solo la opci\u00f3n de usar YTK. YTK es un fork de GTK2 creado por el proyecto Ardour en febrero de 2024. La raz\u00f3n para dejar de compilar con GTK2 es la adici\u00f3n de funcionalidades en YTK que permiten el soporte para dispositivos de entrada t\u00e1ctiles y capacidades de renderizado en la plataforma macOS. <\/p>\n

Inicialmente, YTK era solo una copia de GTK2, integrada en el repositorio de Ardour para facilitar su mantenimiento. Los cambios en la base de c\u00f3digo se limitaban a corregir errores y realizar una limpieza de caracter\u00edsticas no utilizadas en Ardour. A su vez, YTK se utilizaba solo como una opci\u00f3n para compilar Ardour en distribuciones que hab\u00edan dejado de soportar GTK2, mientras que por defecto continuaba realiz\u00e1ndose la compilaci\u00f3n con GTK2. <\/p>\n

En febrero, comenzaron a a\u00f1adirse funcionalidades adicionales a YTK que no estaban presentes en GTK2, y los scripts de compilaci\u00f3n en la rama experimental de Ardour, sobre la cual se formar\u00e1 el lanzamiento de Ardour 9.0, se migraron a YTK por defecto. Hace unos d\u00edas, se elimin\u00f3 el soporte para GTK2.
