Un grupo de entusiastas franceses ha presentado el proyecto Open Printer, que tiene como objetivo crear una impresora de inyecci\u00f3n de tinta a color con un hardware y software abiertos. El dispositivo es modular y se basa en componentes intercambiables est\u00e1ndar. La impresora se puede ensamblar como un constructor y, si es necesario, se puede actualizar, mejorar o reparar por cuenta propia. Los desarrollos del proyecto, incluidos los archivos con esquemas de componentes electr\u00f3nicos y mec\u00e1nicos, firmware, controladores y listas de materiales (BOM \u2014 Bill of Materials), se distribuir\u00e1n bajo la licencia Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0, que proh\u00edbe su uso con fines comerciales. <\/p>\n

La impresora puede usar cartuchos HP 63 (EE. UU.) y HP 302 (Europa), sin DRM, ataduras al fabricante y restricciones para recargas. Se permite la instalaci\u00f3n de un cartucho negro o uno colorido, as\u00ed como ambos cartuchos (negro + color). Se admite la impresi\u00f3n tanto en papel enrollado de 27 mil\u00edmetros como en hojas sueltas A4 y A3. En modo blanco y negro, se proporciona impresi\u00f3n con una resoluci\u00f3n de 600 dpi, mientras que en color \u2014 1200 dpi. <\/p>\n

El funcionamiento del dispositivo se controla mediante una placa Raspberry Pi Zero W con salida a una pantalla TFT de 1.47 pulgadas (172 x 320) y un cambio de modos mediante un bot\u00f3n de rueda de navegaci\u00f3n (Jogger wheel). Para controlar el cartucho, se utiliza un microcontrolador STM32. Para la interacci\u00f3n con dispositivos externos, se ha declarado soporte para USB Type-C (para conexi\u00f3n a computadora), USB Type-A (para dispositivos de almacenamiento), Wi-Fi 802.11ac y Bluetooth 4.1.
