La organizaci\u00f3n fue establecida en Alemania para fomentar el desarrollo de infraestructuras digitales abiertas y ecosistemas de c\u00f3digo abierto. El fondo se ha creado con los fondos proporcionados por el Ministerio de Econom\u00eda y Protecci\u00f3n del Clima de Alemania, y es supervisado por la Agencia Federal de Innovaci\u00f3n Disruptiva SPRIND (Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation). Se destaca que la inversi\u00f3n en software de c\u00f3digo abierto contribuye al desarrollo de innovaciones en Alemania y Europa, adem\u00e1s de mejorar la competitividad, la productividad y la capacidad de innovaci\u00f3n en peque\u00f1as y medianas empresas.     <\/p>\n<p>Proyectos que recibir\u00e1n financiaci\u00f3n en 2025:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Servo \u2014 545 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> chatmail \u2014 497 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025, 2026 y 2027.\n<li class=\"l\"> OpenSSL \u2014 405 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> Let\u2019s Encrypt \u2014 402 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> systemd \u2014 399 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> R Project \u2014 392 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025, 2026 y 2027.\n<li class=\"l\"> Scala \u2014 377 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025, 2026 y 2027.\n<li class=\"l\"> Apache Arrow \u2014 297 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025, 2026 y 2027.\n<li class=\"l\"> conda \u2014 247 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025, 2026 y 2027.\n<li class=\"l\"> PHP \u2014 223 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> Open Web Docs \u2014 220 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> Drupal \u2014 201 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> Fedify \u2014 192 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> OpenPrinting \u2014 190 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> SDCC (Small Device C Compiler) \u2014 98 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.\n<li class=\"l\"> phpseclib \u2014 50 mil euros para los a\u00f1os 2025 y 2026.      <\/ul>\n<p>Desde 2022, la organizaci\u00f3n STF ha financiado un total de 87 proyectos abiertos, entre ellos FreeBSD, GNOME, Samba, Rust, Pipewire, Eclipse, OpenStreetMap, Arch Linux y FFmpeg.
