En la base de c\u00f3digo del n\u00facleo de Linux, sobre la cual se formar\u00e1 la versi\u00f3n 6.19 a principios de febrero, se ha incorporado el c\u00f3digo del subsistema LUO (Live Update Orchestrator), desarrollado por Google para actualizar el n\u00facleo en modo en vivo sin necesidad de reiniciar f\u00edsicamente. Este subsistema se basa en el mecanismo KHO (Kexec HandOver), que fue a\u00f1adido anteriormente al n\u00facleo 6.16 y que implementa la posibilidad de iniciar un nuevo n\u00facleo a partir de uno antiguo sin perder el estado del sistema. <\/p>\n

Live Update Orchestrator permite reiniciar y actualizar completamente el n\u00facleo sin detener el trabajo y sin perder el estado del sistema, dispositivos y procesos. Adem\u00e1s de la funcionalidad de KHO, el subsistema LUO guarda el estado de los dispositivos y la memoria RAM, as\u00ed como asegura la continuidad de las operaciones relacionadas con DMA y el manejo de interrupciones. El estado se conserva hasta que se cambia al nuevo n\u00facleo y se restaura despu\u00e9s de activar el nuevo n\u00facleo sin interrumpir las operaciones continuas con los dispositivos realizadas por el sistema y las aplicaciones en el espacio del usuario. <\/p>\n

A diferencia de la llamada kexec, el subsistema LUO mantiene el estado de los dispositivos y las subsistemas del n\u00facleo entre reinicios, mientras que la llamada kexec funciona solo como un cargador que inicia un nuevo n\u00facleo con una reinicializaci\u00f3n completa del sistema (equivalente a un reinicio, pero sin transferir el control al firmware).
