Como emulador, QEMU permite ejecutar programas compilados para una plataforma de hardware en un sistema con una arquitectura completamente diferente, por ejemplo, ejecutar una aplicaci\u00f3n para ARM en un PC compatible con x86. En el modo de virtualizaci\u00f3n, la ejecuci\u00f3n de c\u00f3digo en un entorno aislado se acerca al rendimiento de un sistema f\u00edsico gracias a la ejecuci\u00f3n directa de instrucciones en la CPU y a la utilizaci\u00f3n del hipervisor Xen o del m\u00f3dulo KVM en Linux, o del m\u00f3dulo NVMM en NetBSD.    <\/p>\n<p>El proyecto fue inicialmente creado por Fabrice Bellard con el fin de permitir la ejecuci\u00f3n de archivos ejecutables de Linux compilados para la plataforma x86 en arquitecturas distintas de x86. A lo largo de los a\u00f1os de desarrollo, se ha a\u00f1adido soporte para la emulaci\u00f3n completa de 14 arquitecturas de hardware, superando los 400 dispositivos de hardware emulados. Para la versi\u00f3n 10.2.0 se han realizado m\u00e1s de 2200 cambios por parte de 188 desarrolladores.     <\/p>\n<p>Mejoras clave a\u00f1adidas en QEMU 10.2:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> En el backend 9pfs, que permite utilizar el sistema de archivos de red Plan 9 para el acceso de una m\u00e1quina virtual a otra, se ha a\u00f1adido soporte para FreeBSD.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha a\u00f1adido un nuevo modo de migraci\u00f3n en vivo 'cpr-exec', que permite reducir el consumo de recursos durante la actualizaci\u00f3n. <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/es\/vps\/\"   title=\"m\u00e1quinas virtuales\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\"  data-wpil-monitor-id=\"2251\">m\u00e1quinas virtuales<\/a> y potencialmente reutilizar los estados y conexiones existentes durante la actualizaci\u00f3n.\n<li class=\"l\"> El ciclo principal de procesamiento de eventos en QEMU se ha trasladado al uso de la interfaz de entrada\/salida as\u00edncrona io_uring en sistemas que la soportan, lo que resulta en un aumento del rendimiento.\n<li class=\"l\"> Se ha mejorado la emulaci\u00f3n en modo user, permitiendo ejecutar procesos individuales compilados para otra CPU. Se ha implementado la llamada al sistema fchmodat2, se ha a\u00f1adido soporte para las banderas MADV_DONTDUMP y MADV_DODUMP, y se ha mejorado el soporte para las arquitecturas aarch64, hppa y microblaze.\n<li class=\"l\"> El emulador de la arquitectura ARM ha a\u00f1adido soporte para el modelo de placa amd-versal2-virt con implementaci\u00f3n del SoC virtual AMD Versal. Se ha mejorado el soporte para las placas 'AST2600', 'AST2700', 'AST1030' y 'xlnx-zynqmp'. Se ha implementado la emulaci\u00f3n de las extensiones de CPU FEAT_SCTLR2, FEAT_TCR2, FEAT_CSSC, FEAT_LSE128, FEAT_ATS1A, FEAT_RME_GPC2, FEAT_AIE, FEAT_MEC y FEAT_GCS.\n<li class=\"l\"> En el emulador de la arquitectura HPPA se ha a\u00f1adido la capacidad de emular la estaci\u00f3n de trabajo HP 715\/64, el controlador SCSI NCR 53c710 y el controlador de entrada\/salida HP LASI.\n<li class=\"l\"> En el emulador de arquitectura PowerPC se ha a\u00f1adido soporte para CPU PowerNV11 y PPE42. Para el hardware pSeries se ha implementado un mecanismo FADUMP (Firmware-Assisted Dump) para crear volcado del estado tras un fallo del sistema.\n<li class=\"l\"> En el emulador de arquitectura RISC-V se ha implementado la API MonitorDef HMP, actualizado OpenSBI (Interfaz Binaria de Supervisor Abierto) a la versi\u00f3n 1.7, y se han realizado numerosas correcciones.\n<li class=\"l\"> En el
