Los desarrolladores del proyecto GNOME anunciaron el inicio del redireccionamiento de parte de las solicitudes a los repositorios Git principales del proyecto hacia espejos alojados en GitHub. A partir de ahora, todas las operaciones de \"git clone\" desde gitlab.gnome.org\/GNOME\/ se redirigir\u00e1n a github.com\/GNOME\/. El proyecto traslad\u00f3 su infraestructura de desarrollo a GitLab en 2018 (anteriormente se utilizaban cgit y Bugzilla). <\/p>\n

Se menciona como raz\u00f3n el trabajo para reducir costos debido al gran volumen de tr\u00e1fico. Se se\u00f1ala que si las medidas adoptadas no son suficientes, se planea implementar medidas adicionales para reducir el consumo de tr\u00e1fico, que permitir\u00e1n disminuir los costos y eliminar la redirecci\u00f3n de GitLab a GitHub. El cambio ya ha causado problemas a algunos usuarios, manifest\u00e1ndose en la carga de datos obsoletos y la fallida activaci\u00f3n de la redirecci\u00f3n autom\u00e1tica.
