La empresa Mozilla anunci\u00f3 el cambio de la clave GPG utilizada para firmar digitalmente los artefactos de las versiones de Firefox y Thunderbird, como archivos tar, paquetes RPM y archivos con sumas de verificaci\u00f3n. El cambio se realiz\u00f3 debido a un incidente en el que una copia no cifrada de la clave fue, por descuido, a\u00f1adida a un repositorio privado de la empresa en GitHub, accesible a un n\u00famero limitado de participantes del proyecto que ten\u00edan acceso a la aplicaci\u00f3n de la clave a trav\u00e9s de servicios internos. <\/p>\n

El an\u00e1lisis de los registros de auditor\u00eda no mostr\u00f3 evidencia de acceso de terceros a la clave mientras se encontraba en el repositorio de GitHub. Para la mayor\u00eda de los usuarios, el cambio de clave no requerir\u00e1 ninguna acci\u00f3n. Las excepciones son solo los usuarios que verifican manualmente las firmas digitales o instalan paquetes RPM con las compilaciones oficiales de Firefox de Mozilla. En estos casos, ser\u00e1 necesario importar expl\u00edcitamente la nueva clave p\u00fablica y revocar la antigua. <\/p>\n

Para los usuarios de Fedora hasta la versi\u00f3n 42 inclusive (en Fedora 43 la clave se reemplazar\u00e1 autom\u00e1ticamente) y RHEL\/Rocky\/Almalinux, es necesario ejecutar: sudo rpm -e --allmatches gpg-pubkey-14f26682d0916cdd81e37b6d61b7b526d98f0353 sudo rpm --import https:\/\/packages.mozilla.org\/rpm\/firefox\/signing-key.gpg sudo dnf clean all <\/p>\n
