El proyecto w1700k-sdr ha desarrollado un firmware y un conjunto de utilidades que transforman el enrutador inal\u00e1mbrico Gemtek W1700K Wi-Fi 7 en un sistema de radio definido por software (SDR), capaz de recibir y analizar se\u00f1ales de radio en un amplio rango de frecuencias. El c\u00f3digo est\u00e1 escrito en C y Python y se distribuye bajo la licencia MIT, excepto por el m\u00f3dulo del n\u00facleo que se proporciona bajo GPLv2.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de reemplazar el firmware original, w1700k-sdr reprograma el chip de radio MediaTek MT7996 para capturar se\u00f1ales de radio arbitrarias, sin estar limitado a los canales Wi-Fi. El SoC Airoha AN7581 utilizado en el enrutador se emplea para el procesamiento inicial de los datos del chip de radio y su env\u00edo a un ordenador externo, conectado a trav\u00e9s de Ethernet de 10 gigabits por UDP, a una velocidad de hasta 320 millones de muestras por segundo (Msps). En el ordenador, los datos se analizan y visualizan mediante gr\u00e1ficos y espectrogramas.<\/p>\n

El firmware se cre\u00f3 desde cero sin utilizar c\u00f3digo propietario de MediaTek, pero aprovechando el c\u00f3digo del controlador mt76, disponible bajo la licencia BSD. El firmware inicializa autom\u00e1ticamente el chip de radio y lo controla mediante comandos desde el host. En lugar de una vinculaci\u00f3n estricta a los canales, se ha implementado la capacidad de ajustar el heterodino a cualquier frecuencia en los rangos de 2.081-2.748 GHz, 4.647-7.509 GHz y 4.707-7.576 GHz con un paso de 2.98 Hz o 11.9 Hz. La frecuencia puede cambiarse 'sobre la marcha' con un retraso de alrededor de 1 ms. <\/p>\n
