Seg\u00fan fuentes en l\u00ednea, la empresa estadounidense Idaho Power ha firmado un contrato de 20 a\u00f1os, por el cual la empresa comprar\u00e1 energ\u00eda de una planta solar de 120 MW. La construcci\u00f3n de la planta est\u00e1 a cargo de Jackpot Holdings. La caracter\u00edstica principal del contrato es que el precio por 1 kWh es de 2,2 centavos, lo que representa un indicador r\u00e9cord de bajo costo en EE.UU.  <\/p>\n

Cabe destacar que el precio de energ\u00eda mencionado no refleja completamente el costo de los paneles solares utilizados. Esto se debe a que durante la construcci\u00f3n de la estaci\u00f3n solar, Jackpot Holdings utiliza subsidios gubernamentales, lo que ha permitido lograr una reducci\u00f3n significativa de precios. Es notable que, en 2017, representantes del Departamento de Energ\u00eda de EE. UU. informaron que las plantas solares en el pa\u00eds logran un costo promedio de un kilovatio-hora de 6 centavos.    <\/p>\n

Otra caracter\u00edstica que benefici\u00f3 a Idaho Power es la existencia de l\u00edneas de transmisi\u00f3n el\u00e9ctricas que se utilizar\u00e1n para entregar energ\u00eda a los clientes. En este momento, estas l\u00edneas se utilizan para transportar electricidad de una mina de carb\u00f3n, cuyo uso podr\u00eda cesar en unos pocos a\u00f1os.
