Un grupo de investigadores de la Universidad Ca' Foscari (Italia) analiz\u00f3 90,000 hosts relacionados con los 10,000 sitios web m\u00e1s grandes seg\u00fan el ranking de Alexa y concluy\u00f3 que el 5.5% de ellos tiene serios problemas de seguridad en sus implementaciones de TLS. Durante la investigaci\u00f3n se examinaron problemas con el uso de m\u00e9todos de cifrado vulnerables: 4,818 de los hosts problem\u00e1ticos eran susceptibles a ataques MITM, 733 conten\u00edan vulnerabilidades que permit\u00edan descifrar completamente el tr\u00e1fico, y 912 permit\u00edan realizar un descifrado parcial (por ejemplo, extraer cookies de sesi\u00f3n).<\/p>\n

Se identificaron graves vulnerabilidades en 898 sitios, que podr\u00edan comprometerlos por completo, como la inserci\u00f3n de scripts en las p\u00e1ginas. 660 (73.5%) de estos sitios utilizaron scripts externos cargados desde hosts de terceros vulnerables, lo que demuestra la relevancia de los ataques indirectos y la posibilidad de su propagaci\u00f3n en cascada (por ejemplo, se puede mencionar el hackeo del contador StatCounter, que pudo comprometer a m\u00e1s de dos millones de otros sitios).<\/p>\n
