La empresa Microsoft hab\u00eda informado anteriormente que el soporte para el sistema operativo Windows 8 se extender\u00eda hasta 2023. Sin embargo, ahora parece que la situaci\u00f3n ha cambiado. Se informa<\/a><\/noindex>, que la corporaci\u00f3n tiene la intenci\u00f3n de acelerar el proceso de transici\u00f3n de los usuarios de «Windows 8» a versiones m\u00e1s nuevas, por lo que el soporte para computadoras con Windows 8 se detendr\u00e1 el 1 de julio de 2019. Cabe destacar que ese mismo d\u00eda dejar\u00e1n de recibir actualizaciones tambi\u00e9n para el sistema operativo m\u00f3vil Windows Phone 8.x.<\/p>\n

Los PC con Windows 8.1 recibir\u00e1n actualizaciones hasta el 1 de julio de 2023. Inicialmente, este plazo se planeaba tambi\u00e9n para la versi\u00f3n normal de Windows 8. De esta manera, Microsoft ha separado Windows 8 de 8.1, y lo ha hecho ahora, y no inmediatamente despu\u00e9s del lanzamiento de 8.1, que fue una actualizaci\u00f3n gratuita para «Windows 8».<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n es posible que la tienda de Windows deje de funcionar en la com\u00fan «Windows 8», aunque esto sigue siendo solo una suposici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
