La empresa Microsoft comenz\u00f3 a utilizar el navegador libre Chromium como base para su navegador web Edge. La aplicaci\u00f3n ya est\u00e1 disponible<\/a><\/noindex> para Windows 10, aunque en forma de una versi\u00f3n beta. Y Google parece apoyar completamente este paso y da la bienvenida a la contribuci\u00f3n de Microsoft. Sin embargo, algunos de sus aplicaciones no funcionan<\/a><\/noindex> correctamente en Edge.<\/p>\n

Por ejemplo, el servicio de mensajer\u00eda Google Hangouts Meet no funciona. Al intentar abrir el sitio, el sistema sugiere descargar Chrome o Firefox. Aunque la propia corporaci\u00f3n de Mountain View desminti\u00f3 esto y afirm\u00f3 que la realidad es diferente.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, los problemas en el mensajero no han terminado. Los usuarios han notado una notificaci\u00f3n sobre un «navegador no compatible» al abrir cualquier documento de Google Docs. Curiosamente, entre los navegadores compatibles se menciona el cl\u00e1sico Edge. Resulta que todo se debe al estado de desarrollo: el nuevo navegador a\u00fan no ha sido lanzado, por lo que no se ha a\u00f1adido a la «lista blanca» de Google Docs. Desde la «corporaci\u00f3n del bien» confirmaron la existencia de tal lista, as\u00ed como que ser\u00e1 a\u00f1adida una vez que se lance el navegador. Lo mismo se aplica a Hangouts Meet.<\/p>\n

Por lo tanto, solo queda esperar el lanzamiento al menos de una versi\u00f3n beta para poder sacar conclusiones. Se espera que la versi\u00f3n estable se lance durante este a\u00f1o, presumiblemente a finales. Si reemplazar\u00e1 por completo al cl\u00e1sico Edge y cu\u00e1ndo eso suceder\u00e1 es desconocido. No se descarta que una versi\u00f3n as\u00ed aparezca en la actualizaci\u00f3n de oto\u00f1o 19H2 o el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o en 20H1.
