Waypipe proporciona la transmisi\u00f3n a otro host a trav\u00e9s de un \u00fanico socket de red de mensajes de Wayland y cambios serializados en los buffers de memoria compartida y DMABUF.<\/p>\n<p>Se puede utilizar SSH como transporte, similar a la redirecci\u00f3n del protocolo X11 incorporada en SSH (\"ssh -X\"). Por ejemplo, para iniciar el programa weston-terminal desde otro host y mostrar la interfaz en el sistema actual, basta con ejecutar el comando \"waypipe ssh -C user@server weston-terminal\". Waypipe debe estar instalado tanto en el lado del cliente como en el lado del servidor: una instancia act\u00faa como servidor Wayland y la otra como cliente Wayland. <\/p>\n<p>El rendimiento de Waypipe se considera adecuado para la ejecuci\u00f3n remota en una red local de terminales y aplicaciones est\u00e1ticas, como Kwrite y LibreOffice. Para aplicaciones que requieren un procesamiento gr\u00e1fico intensivo, como los videojuegos, Waypipe a\u00fan es poco aplicable debido a la ca\u00edda de FPS en dos veces o m\u00e1s, como resultado de los retrasos causados al enviar datos sobre el contenido de toda la pantalla por la red. Para superar este problema, se ha previsto una opci\u00f3n para codificar el flujo en forma de video.<br \/>\nh264, pero actualmente solo es aplicable a distribuciones lineales de DMABUF (XRGB8888).
