Proyecto Glaber<\/a><\/noindex> desarrolla un fork del sistema de monitoreo Zabbix, enfocado en aumentar la eficiencia, el rendimiento y la escalabilidad, y que tambi\u00e9n es adecuado para crear configuraciones tolerantes a fallos, ejecutadas din\u00e1micamente en m\u00faltiples servidores. Inicialmente, el proyecto evolucionaba<\/a><\/noindex> como un conjunto de parches para mejorar el rendimiento de Zabbix, pero en abril comenz\u00f3 el trabajo en la creaci\u00f3n de un fork independiente. El c\u00f3digo del proyecto se distribuye<\/a><\/noindex> bajo la licencia GPLv2.<\/p>\n

Con cargas elevadas, los usuarios de Zabbix enfrentan la falta de clustering como tal en la versi\u00f3n gratuita y problemas al tener que almacenar en la base de datos vol\u00famenes de datos muy grandes. Las bases de datos relacionales soportadas en Zabbix, como PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle y SQLite, est\u00e1n mal adaptadas para almacenar tendencias hist\u00f3ricas: una consulta con un gran n\u00famero de m\u00e9tricas durante seis meses ya se considerar\u00eda \"pesada\" y es necesario optimizar la base de datos y las consultas, as\u00ed como construir clusters de servidores de bases de datos, entre otros.<\/p>\n

Como soluci\u00f3n, en Glaber se incorpora la idea de utilizar una base de datos especializada ClickHouse<\/a><\/noindex>, que ofrece una buena compresi\u00f3n de datos y una velocidad de procesamiento de consultas muy alta (en el mismo hardware se puede lograr una reducci\u00f3n de la carga en CPU y el sistema de disco de 20 a 50 veces). Adem\u00e1s de soportar ClickHouse, Glaber tambi\u00e9n tiene agregados<\/a><\/noindex> varias optimizaciones, como el uso de consultas snmp as\u00edncronas, procesamiento masivo (batch) de datos de los agentes de monitoreo y el uso de nmap para paralelizar la verificaci\u00f3n de la disponibilidad de hosts, lo que permiti\u00f3 acelerar la consulta del estado en m\u00e1s de 100 veces. En Glaber tambi\u00e9n se trabaja en el soporte de clustering<\/a><\/noindex>, para lo cual se planea utilizar en el futuro etcd<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n
