UU., Reino Unido y Canad\u00e1. Este malware fue detectado por primera vez en 2016, pero hasta hace poco no hab\u00eda sido utilizado para robar credenciales de buzones de correo.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la empresa Deep Instinct, que opera en el campo de la seguridad inform\u00e1tica, TrickBot ha comenzado a recolectar credenciales y contactos por correo electr\u00f3nico. Los investigadores han nombrado una nueva herramienta del malware como TrickBooster. Su uso implica el hackeo de cuentas para enviar correos electr\u00f3nicos maliciosos con spam, despu\u00e9s de lo cual se elimina los mensajes enviados de las carpetas \u00abEnviados\u00bb y \u00abPapelera\u00bb.  <\/p>\n

En el marco de una investigaci\u00f3n reciente, los especialistas de Deep Instinct descubrieron una base de datos que conten\u00eda informaci\u00f3n sobre 250 millones de cuentas de correo electr\u00f3nico comprometidas. La empresa se\u00f1ala que millones de cuentas pertenecen a los gobiernos de EE. UU., Reino Unido y Canad\u00e1. La base de datos incluye alrededor de 25 millones de correos de Gmail, as\u00ed como 19 millones y 11 millones de cuentas de Yahoo.com y Hotmail.com, respectivamente. Adem\u00e1s, una parte significativa est\u00e1 compuesta por registros de usuarios de los servicios de correo AOL, MSN, Yahoo.co.uk, entre otros.<\/p>\n

Los expertos consideran que todos estos buzones de correo pueden ser utilizados por los operadores de TrickBot para distribuir diversos tipos de malware.
