El sistema operativo Linux se ha vuelto, a lo largo de los a\u00f1os, tan eficiente y confiable como Windows y macOS. Sin embargo, a\u00fan persiste hay<\/a><\/noindex> un defecto fundamental, relacionado con la incapacidad de manejar correctamente los datos cuando hay escasez de memoria RAM.<\/p>\n

En sistemas con una cantidad limitada de RAM, a menudo se observa una situaci\u00f3n en la que el sistema operativo se congela y no responde a los comandos. En este caso, no se pueden cerrar programas ni liberar memoria de ninguna otra manera. Esto afecta a los sistemas con swap desactivado y una peque\u00f1a cantidad de RAM, alrededor de 4 GB. El problema se discuti\u00f3 recientemente nuevamente en los foros de la comunidad. <\/p>\n

Los desarrolladores de Fedora se unieron<\/a><\/noindex> a la soluci\u00f3n del problema, pero por ahora todo se limita a discutir opciones para mejorar el funcionamiento en un futuro cercano. Hasta el momento no hay soluciones concretas, aunque se proponen alternativas para mejorar el control sobre la memoria disponible, optimizar las herramientas de systemd y ejecutar procesos de GNOME como servicios del usuario o mejorar el OOM Killer para que supervise la memoria RAM disponible.<\/p>\n

Ser\u00eda deseable que estas capacidades se implementaran, en \u00faltima instancia, en el n\u00facleo del sistema. Sin embargo, por ahora no est\u00e1 disponible y no se sabe cu\u00e1ndo alguna soluci\u00f3n se har\u00e1 realidad. Al menos es positivo que el problema est\u00e9 siendo discutido, y esta vez los especialistas de Red Hat tambi\u00e9n se han unido a abordar la cuesti\u00f3n. Esto da esperanza a la aparici\u00f3n de una soluci\u00f3n, aunque sea en un horizonte relativamente lejano. <\/p>\n
