Proyecto EPEL<\/a><\/noindex> (Paquetes Adicionales para Linux Empresarial), que se encarga de mantener el repositorio de paquetes adicionales para RHEL y CentOS, anunci\u00f3<\/a><\/noindex> sobre la disponibilidad del repositorio EPEL 8 para su lanzamiento. El repositorio fue formado<\/a><\/noindex> listo hace dos semanas y ahora se considera preparado para su implementaci\u00f3n. A trav\u00e9s de EPEL, se ofrece a los usuarios de distribuciones compatibles con Red Hat Enterprise Linux un conjunto adicional de paquetes de Fedora Linux, respaldados por las comunidades de Fedora y CentOS. Se producen compilaciones binarias para las arquitecturas x86_64, aarch64, ppc64le y s390x.
\nEn su estado actual, hay disponibles para descarga 310 paquetes binarios (179 srpm). <\/p>\n

Entre las novedades se destaca la creaci\u00f3n de un canal adicional epel8-playground, que act\u00faa como an\u00e1logo de Rawhide en Fedora y ofrece las versiones m\u00e1s recientes de paquetes activamente actualizados, sin garant\u00eda de estabilidad y soporte. En comparaci\u00f3n con las versiones anteriores, EPEL 8 tambi\u00e9n ha a\u00f1adido soporte para la nueva arquitectura s390x, para la cual ahora se est\u00e1n compilando paquetes. En el futuro, no se descarta la aparici\u00f3n de soporte para s390x tambi\u00e9n en EPEL 7. Los m\u00f3dulos a\u00fan no est\u00e1n soportados, pero se planea integrar su soporte para el momento de la formaci\u00f3n de la rama EPEL-8.1 en el repositorio, lo que permitir\u00e1 usarlos como dependencias al compilar otros paquetes en EPEL.<\/p>\n
