En publicaciones correctivas<\/a><\/noindex> servidores POP3\/IMAP4 Dovecot<\/a><\/noindex> 2.3.7.2 y 2.2.36.4, as\u00ed como en complemento Pigeonhole 0.5.7.2 y 0.4.24.2 <\/a><\/noindex>, solucionado vulnerabilidad cr\u00edtica<\/a><\/noindex> (CVE-2019-11500<\/a><\/noindex>), que permite lograr la escritura de datos fuera del buffer asignado al enviar una solicitud especialmente dise\u00f1ada a trav\u00e9s de los protocolos IMAP o ManageSieve. <\/p>\n

El problema puede ser explotado en la fase previa a la autenticaci\u00f3n. A\u00fan no se ha preparado un exploit funcional, pero los desarrolladores de Dovecot no descartan la posibilidad de utilizar la vulnerabilidad para llevar a cabo ataques de ejecuci\u00f3n remota de c\u00f3digo en el sistema o para perpetrar filtraciones de datos confidenciales. Se recomienda a todos los usuarios instalar las actualizaciones de manera urgente (Debian<\/a><\/noindex>, Fedora<\/a><\/noindex>, Arch Linux<\/a><\/noindex>, Ubuntu<\/a><\/noindex>, SUSE<\/a><\/noindex>, RHEL<\/a><\/noindex>, FreeBSD<\/a><\/noindex>).<\/p>\n

La vulnerabilidad est\u00e1 presente en los analizadores de los protocolos IMAP y ManageSieve y es causada por el manejo incorrecto de los caracteres con c\u00f3digo nulo durante el an\u00e1lisis de datos dentro de las cadenas delimitadas por comillas. Este problema permite escribir datos arbitrarios en objetos almacenados fuera del buffer asignado (en la etapa previa a la autenticaci\u00f3n se pueden sobrescribir hasta 8 Kb, y despu\u00e9s de la autenticaci\u00f3n, hasta 64 Kb). <\/p>\n
