Lukas Schauer, desarrollador dehydrated<\/a><\/noindex>, un script bash para automatizar la obtenci\u00f3n de certificados SSL a trav\u00e9s del servicio Let’s Encrypt<\/a><\/noindex>, acept\u00f3 la oferta<\/a><\/noindex> de vender el proyecto y financiar su futuro desarrollo. El nuevo propietario del proyecto es la empresa austr\u00edaca Apilayer GmbH<\/a><\/noindex>. El proyecto se ha trasladado a una nueva direcci\u00f3n github.com\/dehydrated-io\/dehydrated<\/a><\/noindex>. La licencia permanece igual (MIT). <\/p>\n

Una transacci\u00f3n exitosa garantizar\u00e1 el desarrollo y mantenimiento futuros del proyecto \u2014 Lucas es estudiante y, tras completar sus estudios, no est\u00e1 claro si tendr\u00e1 tiempo para el proyecto. La compra de dehydrated por parte de la empresa Apilayer se explica por el deseo de contribuir al apoyo de proyectos de c\u00f3digo abierto y mantener una buena reputaci\u00f3n de su marca (la empresa quiere demostrar que no solo consume software de c\u00f3digo abierto en su servicio en la nube, sino que tambi\u00e9n apoya su desarrollo). <\/p>\n

Lukas sigue siendo el mantenedor y retendr\u00e1 el control sobre el desarrollo. Adem\u00e1s, Lukas ahora podr\u00e1 dedicar m\u00e1s tiempo al desarrollo de dehydrated, cuyo trabajo en los \u00faltimos meses se hab\u00eda limitado principalmente al mantenimiento. Entre los planes m\u00e1s inmediatos se menciona la implementaci\u00f3n de un nuevo sistema para probar el c\u00f3digo, que garantizar\u00e1 la ausencia de regresiones y violaciones de compatibilidad con sistemas antiguos, as\u00ed como el seguimiento de la conformidad con el est\u00e1ndar ACME<\/a><\/noindex> (RFC-8555<\/a><\/noindex>). Recordemos que el uso de dehydrated es una de las formas m\u00e1s sencillas de organizar el proceso de obtenci\u00f3n y actualizaci\u00f3n de certificados a trav\u00e9s de Let's Encrypt \u2014 es suficiente con escribir los dominios necesarios en el archivo de configuraci\u00f3n, crear un directorio WELLKNOWN<\/a><\/noindex> en el \u00e1rbol del servidor web y programar el script en crontab; todas las dem\u00e1s acciones se realizan autom\u00e1ticamente, sin necesidad de intervenci\u00f3n manual del usuario. Para que el script funcione, se requiere bash, openssl, curl, sed, grep, awk y mktemp, que generalmente ya est\u00e1n incluidos en el paquete base de las distribuciones.<\/p>\n
