Ayer, la compa\u00f1\u00eda Mozilla lanz\u00f3 un parche para su navegador Firefox que corrige un error de d\u00eda cero. Seg\u00fan informes de fuentes en l\u00ednea, la vulnerabilidad estaba siendo explotada activamente por actores maliciosos, pero los representantes de Mozilla a\u00fan no han comentado sobre esta informaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Se ha informado que la vulnerabilidad afectaba al compilador JIT de JavaScript IonMonkey de SpiderMonkey, uno de los componentes principales del n\u00facleo de Firefox encargado de procesar operaciones de JavaScript. Los especialistas clasificaron el problema como una vulnerabilidad de confusi\u00f3n de tipos de datos, o «confusi\u00f3n de tipos», cuando la informaci\u00f3n escrita en memoria se define inicialmente como un tipo de dato, pero luego, debido a ciertas manipulaciones, se convierte en otro tipo. Aprovechando esta vulnerabilidad, los atacantes podr\u00edan ejecutar c\u00f3digo arbitrario de forma remota en el sistema comprometido.      <\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la informaci\u00f3n disponible, la vulnerabilidad en cuesti\u00f3n fue descubierta por especialistas de la compa\u00f1\u00eda china Qihoo 360. Los representantes de la empresa afirmaron que est\u00e1n al tanto de una serie de casos en los que la mencionada vulnerabilidad fue utilizada en la pr\u00e1ctica por actores maliciosos. Cabe mencionar que recientemente apareci\u00f3 en la cuenta de Qihoo 360 en Twitter un mensaje diciendo que la empresa hab\u00eda descubierto una vulnerabilidad de d\u00eda cero activamente explotada en el navegador Internet Explorer. Sin embargo, ese mensaje fue eliminado posteriormente.<\/p>\n

En cuanto a la vulnerabilidad en cuesti\u00f3n, fue solucionada en las versiones del navegador Firefox 72.0.1 y Firefox ESR 68.4.1. Se recomienda a los usuarios del navegador de la compa\u00f1\u00eda Mozilla que actualicen su explorador a la \u00faltima versi\u00f3n para no convertirse en v\u00edctimas de los actores maliciosos.<\/p>\n
