Hoy, durante la conferencia para desarrolladores Build 2020, Microsoft anunci\u00f3 Project Reunion — un nuevo plan destinado a unir UWP y aplicaciones cl\u00e1sicas de Win32. La empresa se ha enfrentado al hecho de que los programas UWP no son tan populares como se hab\u00eda planeado originalmente. Muchos a\u00fan utilizan Windows 7 y 8, por lo que la mayor\u00eda de los desarrolladores se centran en crear aplicaciones Win32.<\/p>\n

Desde el principio, Microsoft prometi\u00f3 que los programas Win32 estar\u00edan disponibles en la tienda de aplicaciones oficial, y con el tiempo se les ha prestado cada vez m\u00e1s atenci\u00f3n. Las funciones de UWP comenzaron a aparecer en aplicaciones de una plataforma que, aparentemente, pronto quedar\u00eda obsoleta. Los desarrolladores est\u00e1n a\u00f1adiendo dise\u00f1o de estilo Fluent Design a las aplicaciones Win32 e incluso las recompilan para funcionar en PCs ARM64.<\/p>\n

Con Project Reunion, Microsoft est\u00e1 intentando fusionar dos plataformas de aplicaciones. La compa\u00f1\u00eda planea desacoplar las API de Win32 y UWP del sistema operativo. Los desarrolladores podr\u00e1n acceder a ellas a trav\u00e9s del sistema de gesti\u00f3n de paquetes NuGet, creando as\u00ed una plataforma unificada. Microsoft ha declarado que se asegurar\u00e1 de que las nuevas aplicaciones o versiones actualizadas de programas existentes funcionen en todas las versiones del sistema operativo soportadas. Esto parece referirse a versiones anteriores de Windows 10, ya que Windows 7 ya no es compatible.<\/p>\n
