En la base de c\u00f3digo utilizada para la generaci\u00f3n de la versi\u00f3n Mesa 20.2, se ha realizado<\/a><\/noindex> cambio de RADV, controlador Vulkan para chips AMD, a usar por defecto el backend para la compilaci\u00f3n de shaders \u00abACO<\/a><\/noindex>\u00bb, que est\u00e1 siendo desarrollado por Valve como alternativa al compilador de shaders LLVM. Este cambio resultar\u00e1 en un aumento del rendimiento de los juegos y en una reducci\u00f3n del tiempo de inicio. Para volver al backend antiguo, se puede utilizar la variable de entorno \u00abRADV_DEBUG=llvm\u00bb.<\/p>\n

El cambio del controlador RADV a un nuevo backend se hizo posible despu\u00e9s de que ACO alcanzara la paridad funcional con el antiguo backend desarrollado por AMD para el controlador AMDGPU, que contin\u00faa us\u00e1ndose en el controlador OpenGL RadeonSI. Las pruebas realizadas por la empresa Valve demostr\u00f3<\/a><\/noindex>, indican que ACO supera casi por el doble al compilador de shaders AMDGPU en velocidad de compilaci\u00f3n y muestra un aumento en los FPS en algunos juegos al ejecutarse en sistemas con el controlador RADV.

El backend de ACO est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para proporcionar la generaci\u00f3n de c\u00f3digo lo m\u00e1s \u00f3ptima posible para los shaders de aplicaciones de juegos, as\u00ed como para alcanzar una velocidad de compilaci\u00f3n muy alta. ACO est\u00e1 escrito en C++, se desarrolla teniendo en cuenta la posibilidad de uso para la compilaci\u00f3n JIT y utiliza estructuras de datos que son r\u00e1pidas de recorrer, evitando estructuras basadas en punteros. La representaci\u00f3n intermedia del c\u00f3digo se basa completamente en SSA (Static Single Assignment) y permite la distribuci\u00f3n de registros, al calcular de manera precisa el registro en funci\u00f3n del shader. <\/p>\n
