En el marco del proyecto VKD3D-Proton<\/a><\/noindex> se cre\u00f3 una bifurcaci\u00f3n de la base de c\u00f3digo vkd3d<\/a><\/noindex>. La bifurcaci\u00f3n mencionada ser\u00e1 utilizada por la empresa Valve en el paquete basado en Wine para ejecutar juegos de Windows, Proton. El soporte para DirectX 9\/10\/11 en Proton se basa en el paquete DXVK<\/a><\/noindex>, mientras que la implementaci\u00f3n de DirectX 12 a\u00fan se basa en la biblioteca vkd3d (despu\u00e9s de la muerte<\/a><\/noindex> del autor de vkd3d, el desarrollo de dicho componente continu\u00f3<\/a><\/noindex> por parte de los empleados de CodeWeavers y la comunidad de Wine). En el desarrollo de VKD3D-Proton est\u00e1n involucrados<\/a><\/noindex> Hans-Kristian Arntzen (Hans-Kristian Arntzen<\/a><\/noindex>, autor de la herramienta SPIRV-Cross<\/a><\/noindex> y desarrollador de algunas extensiones de la API de Vulkan), Philip Rebohle (Philip Rebohle<\/a><\/noindex>, autor de DXVK) y Joshua Ashton (Joshua Ashton<\/a><\/noindex>, autor de D9VK<\/a><\/noindex>),
\n que trabaja<\/a><\/noindex> para la empresa Valve. Se planea que VKD3D-Proton soporte cambios, optimizaciones y mejoras espec\u00edficas para Proton para un mejor rendimiento de los juegos de Windows basados en Direct3D 12, que a\u00fan no han sido aceptados en la versi\u00f3n principal de vkd3d. Entre las diferencias tambi\u00e9n se destaca la orientaci\u00f3n en el uso de extensiones modernas de Vulkan y las capacidades de los nuevos controladores gr\u00e1ficos para lograr una compatibilidad total con Direct3D 12. VKD3D-Proton no tiene como objetivo mantener la compatibilidad con versiones anteriores de la API del vkd3d original y no descarta la posibilidad de dejar de dar soporte a antiguas GPU y controladores gr\u00e1ficos.<\/p>\n
