Los desarrolladores de Firefox continuaron con el desarrollo del modo \u00abHTTPS Only<\/a><\/noindex>\u00bb, que al activarse redirige autom\u00e1ticamente todas las solicitudes sin cifrado a versiones seguras de las p\u00e1ginas (\u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb se reemplaza por \u00abhttps:\/\/\u00bb). En las versiones nocturnas, sobre las cuales se basar\u00e1 el lanzamiento de Firefox 80 el 25 de agosto, en la interfaz para ajustar los par\u00e1metros del navegador (about:preferences) se incluir\u00e1 en la secci\u00f3n \u00abPrivacidad y seguridad\u00bb se ha agregado<\/a><\/noindex> un bloque para gestionar la habilitaci\u00f3n exclusivamente a trav\u00e9s de HTTPS. Se prev\u00e9<\/a><\/noindex> la posibilidad de activar este modo para todas las ventanas o solo para las ventanas abiertas en modo de navegaci\u00f3n privada. Por defecto, el modo de redirecci\u00f3n a HTTPS est\u00e1 desactivado.<\/p>\n

Recordemos que el nuevo modo soluciona el problema<\/a><\/noindex> la apertura por defecto de p\u00e1ginas que utilizan \u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb, sin posibilidad de cambiar este comportamiento. A pesar del gran esfuerzo por promover HTTPS en los navegadores, al escribir un dominio en la barra de direcciones sin especificar el protocolo, todav\u00eda se utiliza por defecto \u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb. La configuraci\u00f3n propuesta cambia este comportamiento y tambi\u00e9n incluye el reemplazo autom\u00e1tico por \u00abhttps:\/\/\u00bb al ingresar expl\u00edcitamente una direcci\u00f3n con \u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb. Adem\u00e1s del reemplazo al ingresar en la barra de direcciones, el cambio a HTTPS tambi\u00e9n se realiza a nivel de los subrecursos cargados en las p\u00e1ginas.<\/p>\n

Si la solicitud a las p\u00e1ginas principales (escribiendo el dominio en la barra de direcciones) por https:\/\/ termina en un tiempo de espera, se muestra al usuario una p\u00e1gina de error que contiene un bot\u00f3n para realizar la solicitud por http:\/\/. En caso de que haya fallos al cargar subrecursos por \u00abhttps:\/\/\u00bb que se carguen al procesar la p\u00e1gina, dichos fallos se ignoran, pero se generan advertencias en la consola web, las cuales pueden consultarse a trav\u00e9s de las herramientas para desarrolladores web.<\/p>\n
