Publicado<\/a><\/noindex> lanzamiento del gestor de ventanas xfwm4 4.14.3<\/a><\/noindex>, utilizado en el entorno de usuario Xfce para mostrar ventanas en la pantalla, decorar ventanas y organizar su movimiento, cierre y cambio de tama\u00f1o. <\/p>\n

En esta nueva versi\u00f3n se ha a\u00f1adido<\/a><\/noindex> soporte de extensi\u00f3n X11 XRes<\/a><\/noindex> (X-Resource), que se utiliza<\/a><\/noindex> para solicitar al servidor X informaci\u00f3n sobre el PID de la aplicaci\u00f3n que se ejecuta utilizando mecanismos de aislamiento sandbox. El soporte de XRes soluciona el problema del cierre forzado de procesos de cliente que se cuelgan, cuyos PID no se pueden obtener a trav\u00e9s de la propiedad _NET_WM_PID, ya que refleja el identificador de proceso dentro de un entorno aislado, que puede diferir del identificador en el espacio de nombres global. <\/p>\n

En esta nueva versi\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n se solucion\u00f3<\/a><\/noindex> hay una vulnerabilidad que puede llevar a un acceso a un \u00e1rea de memoria ya liberada (use-after-free) y a la escritura de datos fuera del b\u00fafer asignado al procesar cadenas con configuraciones. Adem\u00e1s, en xfwm4 4.14.3 agregados<\/a><\/noindex> se han a\u00f1adido manejadores de errores adicionales XError, que facilitan el diagn\u00f3stico de problemas relacionados con solicitudes XConfigureWindow.<\/p>\n

Algunos usuarios, tras actualizar a la versi\u00f3n 4.14.3 han experimentado<\/a><\/noindex> fallos al intentar iniciar en FreeBSD, que parecen ser causados por la nueva vinculaci\u00f3n con libXres. Tambi\u00e9n en xfwm4 en los archivos de construcci\u00f3n de la rama experimental, y luego se traslad\u00f3 a las construcciones estables.<\/a><\/noindex> hay un problema con la detecci\u00f3n de tarjetas gr\u00e1ficas AMD al activar la extensi\u00f3n X11 XPresent para sincronizar la salida con el pulso de desactivaci\u00f3n de cuadro (vblank). XPresent se activaba cuando el nombre de la tarjeta conten\u00eda la m\u00e1scara AMD, mientras que algunas tarjetas se nombran<\/a><\/noindex> \u00abRadeon\u00bb sin mencionar la palabra \u00abAMD\u00bb (por ejemplo, \u00abRadeon RX 570\u00bb). Para estas tarjetas se activ\u00f3 el controlador vblank basado en \u00abglx\u00bb, que claramente se queda atr\u00e1s en rendimiento.<\/p>\n

Por ejemplo, al usar glx, la reproducci\u00f3n de video 4K en mpv carga la GPU al 70% en modo de alta calidad y al 50% en modo de baja calidad, mientras que la carga al usar XPresent se reduce al 50% y 30% respectivamente, lo que afecta significativamente el consumo de energ\u00eda y rendimiento. El problema todav\u00eda no se ha solucionado. Para forzar la activaci\u00f3n de XPresent se puede agregar la configuraci\u00f3n \/general\/vblank_mode en xfconf:<\/p>\n
