Rich Geldreich transfiri\u00f3<\/a><\/noindex> las bibliotecas de compresi\u00f3n que desarroll\u00f3 LZHAM<\/a><\/noindex> y Crunch<\/a><\/noindex> en la categor\u00eda dominio p\u00fablico<\/a><\/noindex> (Public Domain), es decir, ha renunciado completamente a los derechos de autor y ha dado la posibilidad de distribuci\u00f3n y uso en cualquier forma por parte de todos sin restricciones. Para las jurisdicciones donde la categor\u00eda de dominio p\u00fablico no es reconocida, se han dejado las correspondientes reservas. Anteriormente, los proyectos se distribu\u00edan bajo licencias MIT y ZLIB.<\/p>\n

La biblioteca Crunch proporciona herramientas para la compresi\u00f3n y recodificaci\u00f3n de texturas sin p\u00e9rdida de calidad utilizando algoritmos DXTn<\/a><\/noindex>. Crunch soporta formatos de texturas DXT1\/5\/N y 3DC y puede guardar resultados en formatos DDS, CRN y KTX. <\/p>\n

LZHAM proporciona un algoritmo de compresi\u00f3n optimizado para empaquetar recursos que se entregan como parte de aplicaciones de juegos. Soporta una API compatible con Zlib. Entre las caracter\u00edsticas de LZHAM se destaca la posibilidad de
\nutilizar tablas de coincidencia (de hasta 64 KB), diccionarios (de hasta 500 MB), paralelizaci\u00f3n de operaciones en m\u00faltiples hilos y aplicar cambios delta, lo que permite distribuir modificaciones sin reempaquetar archivos ya comprimidos.<\/p>\n

En t\u00e9rminos de nivel de compresi\u00f3n y velocidad de empaquetado, la implementaci\u00f3n de LZHAM es comparable a LZMA, pero en velocidad de descompresi\u00f3n supera a LZMA de 1.5 a 8 veces (aunque es m\u00e1s lenta que zlib). Al comparar con ZSTD, LZHAM supera a este algoritmo en eficacia de compresi\u00f3n, pero se queda atr\u00e1s casi un orden de magnitud en velocidad de codificaci\u00f3n y un poco en velocidad de decodificaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
