Los desarrolladores de Chrome han informado sobre la adici\u00f3n en las versiones de prueba de Chrome Canary, Dev y Beta de una nueva configuraci\u00f3n experimental \u00abchrome:\/\/flags#omnibox-default-typed-navigations-to-https\u00bb, que al activarse har\u00e1 que, al introducir nombres de host en la barra de direcciones, el sitio se abra por defecto utilizando el esquema \u00abhttps:\/\/\u00bb, y no \u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb. En la versi\u00f3n 89 de Chrome programada para su lanzamiento el 2 de marzo, la mencionada funci\u00f3n se habilitar\u00e1 por defecto para un peque\u00f1o porcentaje de usuarios y, si no surgen problemas imprevistos, el uso de HTTPS por defecto ser\u00e1 propuesto a todos en la versi\u00f3n 90 de Chrome. <\/p>\n

Recordemos que, a pesar del gran esfuerzo para promover HTTPS en los navegadores, al introducir un dominio en la barra de direcciones sin especificar un protocolo, por defecto todav\u00eda se utiliza \u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb. Para abordar este problema, en Firefox 83 se implement\u00f3 un modo opcional \u00abHTTPS Only\u00bb, en el cual todas las solicitudes no cifradas se redirigen autom\u00e1ticamente a las versiones seguras de las p\u00e1ginas (\u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb se reemplaza por \u00abhttps:\/\/\u00bb). Este reemplazo no se limita a la barra de direcciones y tambi\u00e9n funciona para sitios que se abren expl\u00edcitamente con \u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb, as\u00ed como al cargar recursos dentro de la p\u00e1gina. Si la redirecci\u00f3n a https:\/\/ finaliza en un tiempo de espera, se muestra al usuario una p\u00e1gina de error que incluye un bot\u00f3n para realizar la solicitud en \u00abhttp:\/\/\u00bb.
