Available is the release of the Live distribution Finnix 124, which is dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of the project. The distribution is based on the Debian package base and only supports console operation, but includes a good selection of utilities for administrators. It contains 584 packages with various utilities. The size of the iso image is 455 MB.
Uues versioonis:
- In the wifi-connect utility, when launched without command line parameters, discovered access points are displayed.
- Support for passing a complete network mask has been added to the kernel parameter 'ip='.
- A version of the strings utility, written in Python and allowing for the omission of the binutils package installation, has been added.
- An unofficial build for the RISC-V (riscv64) architecture has been added alongside builds for amd64, i386, arm64, armhf, ppc64el, and s390x architectures.
- The systemd service finnix.target has been replaced with multi-user.target.
- New packages added: inxi, rmlint, nwipe, rename, gdu, pwgen, sntp, lz4, lzip, lzop, zstd.
- The pppoeconf and crda packages have been removed as they are no longer supported in Debian.
- The package base has been synchronized with the Debian 11 repositories.
