Schleswig-Holstein, a region in northern Germany, is planning to transition all government employees' computers, including teachers in schools, to open-source software as part of an initiative to reduce dependency on a single vendor. In the first phase, by the end of 2026, they plan to replace MS Office with LibreOffice, and later replace Windows with Linux. The migration will affect around 25,000 computers in various government institutions and will be conducted considering the issues faced during the transition to Linux in government institutions in the city of Munich. <\/p>\n
