Michael R Sweet, CUPS print system author, has introduced the PAPPL 1.3 release, a framework for developing print applications based on the IPP Everywhere protocol, recommended as a replacement for traditional printer drivers. The framework's code is written in C and is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license with an exception allowing linkage with code under GPLv2 and LGPLv2 licenses. <\/p>\n
