Koostatud on versioonid arhitektuuridele x86_64, ARM64, s390x ja ppc64le, pakkudes k\u00e4ivitatavat (900 MB), minimaalset (1.9 GB) ja t\u00e4ielikku pilti (12 GB). Tulevikus plaanitakse luua Live-versioonid GNOME, KDE, Xfce ja MATE keskkondade jaoks, samuti pildid Raspberry Pi, WSL, konteinerite ja pilveplatvormide jaoks.    <\/p>\n<p>Jaotust on t\u00e4ielikult binaarselt \u00fchilduv Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.8-ga ja seda saab kasutada CentOS 8 sujuva asendusena. Muutused h\u00f5lmavad kaubam\u00e4rgiga muutmist, RHEL spetsiifiliste paketide, nagu redhat-*, insights-client ja subscription-manager-migration*, eemaldamist.           <\/p>\n<p>AlmaLinux distributsioon on loodud CloudLinuxi poolt vastuseks Red Hati enneaegsele CentOS 8 toe l\u00f5petamisele (CentOS 8 uuenduste v\u00e4ljaandmine peatati 2021. aasta l\u00f5pus, mitte 2029. aastal nagu kasutajad eeldasid). Projekti juhib eraldi mittetulundus\u00fching AlmaLinux OS Foundation, mis loodi arendamiseks neutraalses keskkonnas koos kogukonna osalusega ning kasutades haldamise mudelit, mis sarnaneb Fedora projekti t\u00f6\u00f6korraldusele. Distributsioon on tasuta k\u00f5igile kasutajatele. K\u00f5ik AlmaLinuxi arendused avaldatakse avatud litsentside alusel.     <\/p>\n<p>Lisaks AlmaLinuxile pakuvad klassikalise CentOS 8 alternatiiviks ka Rocky Linux (arendab kogukond CentOS asutaja juhtimisel, toetab Ctrl IQ), VzLinux (ettevalmistatud Virtuozzo poolt), Oracle Linux, SUSE Liberty Linux ja EuroLinux. Lisaks andis Red Hat v\u00f5imaluse tasuta kasutada RHEL-i organisatsioonides, mis arendavad avatud tarkvara, ja isiklike arendajate keskkondades, kus on kuni 16 virtuaalset v\u00f5i
